This update, posted to Salisbury Cathedral’s own website, neglects to mention or address several concerns put forward in the comments surrounding their controversial planning application. The precious walled kitchen garden which will be severed by the archive building, the years of neglect to Leaden Hall’s fabric, medieval timber beams in Leaden Hall and independent Flood Risk Assessment are all omitted from this page.
The Flood Risk Assessment raised six high severity concerns surrounding the flood zone which the archive will be situated on – the Dean and Chapter and Environmental Agency have failed to satisfactorily respond to this assessment, and are willing to continue plans to house vulnerable manuscripts on this site.
