Salisbury Dean & Chapter causing delays

Once again Salisbury Dean & Chapter is causing delays to a decision on their injurious application to turn Leaden Hall on Salisbury Cathedral Close into a C21st office block for their own use, and to build an archive for irreplaceable manuscripts on a site abutting a flood zone.  We are now told that they forgot to file some crucial documents, so will be adding yet more paperwork to a planning application already so unwieldy that few members of the public would be able to wade through it.

The application will not be heard by the Planning Committee on March 20th. It’s possible it won’t even be heard at the April meeting.  Meanwhile, the Dean & Chapter’s ongoing neglect of the Grade I listed building continues. This should not be allowed to happen. Wiltshire Council should file an Urgent Works notice on the Applicant straight away, and not allow the Dean & Chapter to protract their programme of neglect in the mistaken belief that this will secure them planning consent, however harmful their proposed scheme.
