Salisbury City Council will be discussing the Leaden Hall plans at their meeting on February 16th, following meetings with the Dean & Chapter. Previously, the City Council objected to this harmful scheme.
They recognised the dangerous precedent that would be set for heritage protection across England if the need for urgent repairs, which the Dean & Chapter has caused through years of wilful neglect and is duty-bound to undertake, gets used as an excuse to get approval for a scheme which will cause harm to the Grade I building and put the precious archive at risk.
We applaud the City Council for taking this stance and urge any of you who are Salisbury resident to please lobby your local councillors to ensure that they stick to their guns on February 16th.
